Kotegaeshi.
Aikido is one of the things I miss daily. Aikido is different. It is simple and complex at the same time, and it takes a lifetime to simply begin to comprehend the greatness behind it.
Aikido is a martial art that focuses on using the opponent’s own energy to gain control of them or to throw them away from you. It is not a static art, but places great emphasis on motion and the dynamics of movement.
Created by Morihei Ueshiba (often referred to by his title O’Sensei or Great Teacher), he focused on peaceful resolutions to conflicts.
It doesn’t matter how stressful my day was or how out of center I was, I would finish the practice with a smile, relaxed and centered.
Here’s a picture of a randori. Multiple attackers coming at you at the same time. You can see the dynamic nature of Aikido.
