I am a geek, a computer programmer and information security researcher. However, I still prefer to write down my ideas, notes and other snippets on a good note pad.

I use the fantastic Field Notes notebook. Simple, easy to work with and just gorgeous. To write I use a CountyComm Embassy Pen. The Embassy Pen is a rugged pen that can also be used as a tool (for breaking glass, as a kubaton, etc). It uses Fisher Space Pen cartridges so you can write under pretty much any condition.

The notebook and the pen are on my backpack.

Simple is good.
